Founded in 1979 by Dr. Ramon Addapa, the company began as a small research circle known then as the Lab of Rectifying Psychology — close colleagues, formed to study the human mind: behavior, memory, cognition. The turning point came with the discovery of an unknown genome, a genetic anomaly with implications for medicine, memory, and the boundaries of human potential.

The early work produced the company's first artificial intelligence, ICA (Interactive Computer Assistant), built to process neurological data and gene interactions in real time. Over the next decade it grew into AICA — the system every Addapa facility is hardlinked to today.

In the early 1980s came the RT4828 ProtoCell project: programmable, regenerative cell structures aimed at cancer therapy, human performance, and cellular repair. The ProtoCell has been the cornerstone of the company's work since.

After Dr. Ramon Addapa's death in 1990, leadership passed to Dr. Afro Mal-Funkenstein, a leading figure in gene-variant studies. The institution took its founder's name — Addapa Industries — and widened its remit: genomic integration, variant modeling, biomolecular engineering.

The six facilities

From 1983 through 1996, Addapa established six globally distributed facilities, each dedicated to a specialized research discipline:

  • New York Facility (USA) — Biological and Medical Research
  • Boa Vista Facility (Brazil) — Genetic Splicing and Variant Analysis
  • Gravelines Facility (France) — Physics and Energy Application
  • Kharyyalakh Facility (Russia) — Robotics, Prosthetics, and Machine Integration
  • King Island Facility (Australia) — Chemical Repurposing and Synthetic Compound Study
  • Antarctic Facility (International) — Astronomical Observation and Signal Analysis

Each facility operates autonomously. All of them answer to AICA.

By the late 1990s, Addapa employed over 100,000 researchers and more than 10,000 field agents worldwide.

The work continues: past the current limits of biology, into a future where form and function are no longer dictated by nature alone.
